Van Horn Looks Ahead To 2015 Season

The Razorbacks will most likely lose three pitchers to the draft- meaning one of the main concerns heading into the 2014 season will once again be a focus point for Dave Van Horn.

"I'm a little worried about pitching next year. Obviously we will have Killian back, and Jackson and Taccolini and Teague and some of these guys that did real well. But we still have to fill in some of this pitching." says Arkansas Head Coach Dave Van Horn.

With Senior Jake Wise gone- it now leaves a hole behind the plate.

"Our catcher situation is going to be wide open. We signed a Junior College catcher, we've signed a big time catcher out of Southern California. I mean, so , no, that position will be wide open." adds Van Horn.

The Fall will start to put the pieces together defensively for the Hogs- but another big area of immediate focus is the offense.

"Sometimes you know, you have to change the mindset. And guys are set in their ways, or you know, they don't want to change. When you kind of don't have a lot of depth you don't have a lot of options. We're trying to make sure we have some options, and some open minds so we can get some guys going."

But one of the biggest differences you could see come 2015 wont take place on the field- but where the Hogs play- in order to boost their RPI.

"I think you're going to see us play on the road a little bit more. You can help yourself by winning on the road. And we actually had our opening weekend opponent that I had scheduled for over a year on the East Coast called, and they cant come now. So we play the second weekend in South Alabama for a tournament so we might be going on the road for the first weekend and the second weekend." continues Van Horn.
