According to a police report, officers responded to a home on Jackson Highway for a domestic disturbance. When investigators arrived, they say they found a broken door frame and an intoxicated Tony Lee. Others in the house at the time told police Lee and his wife got into an argument over their children playing baseball, which then quickly escalated.
The report goes on to state Lee's wife told officers she threw a measuring tape at his truck and that he then "began to charge" her. She said she then locked herself inside the home and that is when Lee kicked the door in. That is when investigators say the argument became physical.
Officers said Lee's wife said she was not hurt, but that she was scared of her husband. Tony Lee was arrested on charges of Assault on a Household of Family Member and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. He was booked into the Washington County Jail and later released. His court date is set in Prairie Grove District Court on May 20 at 8:00 a.m.
The Lincoln Police Department's website lists Tony Lee as Assistant Police Chief.
