Olympic veteran shares his winter games experience and recalls the sacrifices and accomplishments he made going for the gold.
SQUAW VALLEY, Calif. - Fifty-four years ago, Joe Pete Wilson, competed in the 1960 Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley. Wilson was 24-years-old and it was his only Olympic appearance competing in the sport of Cross Country Skiing. Wilson says he dedicated 10 years of his life to training and competition. He didn't medal in the 1960 games but he did win a bronze medal as part of the U.S. Men's Bobsled Team in the 1964 games.
