Matt Rhodes joined the KNWA / FOX 24 Storm Spotter Team in early 2010. Born in raised in Northwest Arkansas, he has experienced every type of weather imaginable. "I remember when I was young, the family was huddling in the hall way during a tornado warning as hail was pounding the roof. I don't think a tornado ever touched down, but I will never forget the 3 inch spiked hail my dad retrieved from the front lawn."

Matt has several hobbies that include travel and photography, all of which have manifested themselves into storm chasing. "I always had a camera in my hand, and it was more often then not pointed to the sky. It's kind of funny now when I think about it, but I never thought I would one day I be out filming and photographing the weather."

Some of Matt's most memorable weather experiences include the 1999 Salt Lake City tornado, the Bentonville / Little Flock tornado March 12, 2006, and the Cincinnati, AR tornado December 31, 2010. "Of course its not just about tornadoes, I enjoy all types of weather. Public Safety, and being a reliable source for the National Weather Service and local media outlets is my motivation for doing what I do."
