Zach joined the KNWA/FOX24 team in August of 2022 as the Weekday Morning Meteorologist. You can catch him on KNWA from 5:00 a.m. through 7:00 a.m. and on FOX24 from 7:00 a.m. through 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.
Before moving to Northwest Arkansas, he worked for our sister station KTAB-TV in Abilene, Texas. While there, he served as the Weekday Morning and Noon Meteorologist for 3.5 years. He covered many events that ranged from tornadoes to winter storms. On May 18, 2019, he helped cover an EF-2 tornado that was only 7 blocks away from where the TV station is located. Zach also covered the devastating Texas Freeze in February of 2021. He is forever grateful for everything he learned from the outstanding and expierenced staff at KTAB-TV.
Zach got his career rolling when he was hired as an intern at FOX61 in Hartford, Connecticut. He gained experience watching and helping the weather team cover many Nor’easter snow storms in the winter and spring of 2018. He was also there for the severe weather outbreak on May 15, 2018, where 2 tornadoes touched down in New Haven County. His time there helped forge the foundation of his Operational Forecasting career.
His first steps toward becoming a Meteorologist began when he decided to enroll in the National Weather Service Accredited Meteorology Program at Western Connecticut State University. He learned everything from how to solve differential equations to how to deliver an effective weather forecast. Zach graduated in May of 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and with a Minor in Mathematics. He represented the Meteorology program in the Dean’s Circle for two years.
Born and raised in New England, Zach grew up in the rural and historic town of Colchester, Connecticut. He developed a passion for the weather after completing a chapter on Meteorology in his sixth-grade science class at William J Johnston Middle School. Going through Hurricane Irene in August of 2011 also instilled his passion and humbled him with respect to the power of mother nature.
After work, you can find Zach in the gym. He has a passion for the sport of bodybuilding.
Zach is so excited to continue his career at KNWA/FOX24. He is very eager to become a part of the great communities of Northwest Arkansas and River Valley.
