A new movie at the Bentonville Film Festival is telling history that’s been long forgotten.
‘Dreams: Unsung Heroes of African American History’ is a film that follows five Alabama high school students as they tell stories that are not well known, bringing their achievements into the light.
Alecia Hobdy plays one of the students in the movie and said it was a challenge learning about the unsung heroes.
“I think it was just a lot for me realize that there was more and more people none of us knew about, and they teach a lot about Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks, but there’s so many other people that like that we haven’t even began to learn about,” Hobdy said.
Hobdy said she was excited to see the finished film for the first time Friday.
