SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA) -- - Finding opportunities for kids to get out of the house during summertime can put a real drain on the bank accounts of parents. Thankfully, the Jones Center's summer camp programs deliver on the fun while keeping the cost down to a minimum.
"A soccer camp, a basketball camp, a sports camp, even an art camp,"Jones Center Marketing and Communications Manager Jake Lane said while listing off the various camps offered.
The Jones Center has a summer camp program for every interest your child might have. They also offer one that will help the kids stay cool in the heat of summer with an ice skating camp. Lane is quick to point out it is all just part of the Jones Center's core mission to provide Northwest Arkansas with a place to learn, play and belong.
"This summer the Jones Center is the perfect place to bring your kids, drop them off [and] have them in a fun [and] safe environment where they can learn a new skill," Lane explained.
The Jones Center has increased the opportunities for kids to attend a summer camp program by tripling the number of camps this year, including three ice skating camps.
"June, July and August will all have a session," Lane shared. "So maybe your kid, ages four to 17, wants to learn a new skill. Ice skating is a perfect skill to just kind of have and so we're going to be teaching kids to ice skate."
All summer there's a chance for your child to engage in a sport or an activity at the Jones Center with one of their summer camp programs.
"All of them last a week and so [there's] a lot of opportunities for them to get out of the house, do something productive and fun and make some new friends," Lane said.
The Jones Center prides itself on providing a fun and safe environment at an affordable price that makes its activities accessible for all.
"Make sure you sign up early," Lane cautioned. "These spots will fill up for our summer camps and we look forward to seeing you here at the Jones Center."
