We salute Roy E. Thompson!

Thompson served in the U.S. Navy.  He enlisted in 1940 and was honorably discharged in 1944.  Thompson was stationed at Pearl Harbor.  Thompson is from Bremerton, WA and was nominated by his great-granddaughter, Shea.

We salute Staff Sergeant Gregory Garner!

Garner served in the U.S. Air Force from 1980 until 1990. he awas stationed in Keflavik, Iceland.

He was nominated by Denise Garner who says that in the picture he is holding his daughter Deidre who is now 25 years old!
 
We salute Command Sargent Major Frank C. Squirrel.

Frank served for 42 years and was retired from the United States Army. He was a member of the Green Beret Special Forces. He was also a member of the retired Special Forces Association and the Cherokee Nation Color Guard.

Frank, 80, passed away on April 20, 2013. He lived in Farmington. 

He was nominated by his daughter, Diana who writes, “we miss him so much every day.”

 
We salute Private John F. Faulkner!

Faulkner who served from 1914 until 1919 in the Army horse cavalry. He joined at age 16 by lying about his age – he was born in 1898.

Faulkner was nominated by his grandson, John Muse of Rogers, who writes, “he rode along the Texas border from 1915 until 1917 with his commanding officer Teddy Roosevelt looking for Poncho Villa and his troops until he was deployed to France in early 1917.”

Faulkner remained in France until after the end of World War I in 1919. He passed away in May 1991 – just 6 weeks before is 94th birthday.

Faulkner lived in Rogers from 1965 until 1972 then returned to his hometown of Urich, Missouri. He is survived by his 5 grandsons, Tom Wheaton of Quarataro, Mexico, Jack Wheaton of Springfield Illinois, Robert and William Wheaton of Atlanta Georgia and John Muse of Rogers.
