Bella Vista Police Starting Youth Explorer Program

KNWA Today
The Bella Vista Police Department is starting a youth Explorer program, an extension program of the Boy Scouts of America.
This is a career-oriented program for males and females, designed to offer exposure to the law enforcement line of work and hands-on experience alongside working law enforcement officers. The program also aims to promote growth and development of adolescents, while offering real world experience in law enforcement, including patrol, 911 dispatch and animal control.
An open house for this program will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the department.
Applications will be available at the open house, or can be picked up before that at the department, 105 Town Center in Bella Vista. Applicants must be 8th grade graduates, or between the age of 14 and 20.
