KNWA Today: Fayetteville National Cemetery Memorial Day Observance

One local group will host an event that will honor past veterans.

The Fayetteville National Cemetery will hold the annual Memorial Day Observance Ceremony on May 25, 27-28. The event will be held at the cemetery and will include a full schedule of events to pay tribute to our those who lost their lives while  serving our country.

Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks Medical Center Director Mr. Kelvin L. Parks will provide the keynote address for the ceremony. Other highlights will include a canon volley, posting of the colors, and placement of memorial wreaths. The public is encouraged to attend and pay tribute.
 

On Saturday, May 25, flags will be placed at the cemetary starting at 9:00 a.m.

Then on Monday, May 27, services will begin with singing and commemoration festivities beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Finally, on Tuesday, May 28, volunteers will help clean-up the site from Monday’s event.

Organizers say volunteers are needed for the ceremony.
