KNWA Today: Luke West Interview & Performance

KNWA Today

His story is all about a ‘Family Tradition’ and Fayetteville singer-songwriter, Luke West is continuing that lasting legacy from his parents and building it into a budding music career.

Luke West will be hosting a reunion concert and benefit at The Artist’s Laboratory Theatre in South Fayetteville. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2. Admission is $10, but donations are welcome. Parking is available at Walker Park.

West is an African-American Americana singer-songwriter from South Fayetteville and one of the sons of Sarge and Shirley West. Sarge and Shirley were the first African American country music duo to tour the United States, and are integral to South Fayetteville’s history.

This reunion concert, celebration of South Fayetteville’s history, and benefit will help get Luke West to Nashville, Tennessee. Once in Nashville, Luke will spend a week with music executives for the County Radio Seminar in hopes of getting his music on country radio stations.
