Arkansas State Library hosts Census training sessions

KNWA

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — The Arkansas State Library had a series of training sessions at libraries around the state informing residents on why their count matters.

The sessions explained everything from what the census is, how it will impact you locally, privacy issues and how the information will be used.

“Every census response returned from the state of Arkansas is worth about $3,000 every year to our state and local economies. That’s $30,000 over the course of 10 years and we don’t get a do-over until 2030 so it’s important to answer those questions now,” Dept. Dir. at Arkansas State Library Jennifer Chilcoat said.

The census kicks off April 1.
