FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — UPDATE: Andrew Simeon Witt, 22, was arrested for second-degree battery in connection to a shooting at a Fayetteville apartment complex on Friday, January 3.

The police report states that Witt told investigators he believed the gun, a 9mm semi-automatic, “had the loaded magazine, but did not have a live round chambered.” Witt said he “dry fired” while standing in this kitchen. Witt lives at the 2700 block of N Club Drive apartment 5.

Meanwhile, a 911 call came in from the same address, but from apartment 6.

A woman, 23, said she was showering when she was shot in the shoulder. There were a total of five people in apartment 6, three were children, according to the police report.

The woman was transported to the hospital to remove the bullet which appeared to still be inside her. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Witt admitted to the police that his action was “reckless,” according to the report.
