Frozen Toes Trail Run in need of volunteers

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — An annual cold-weather trail running race is back for another year.

The Frozen Toes Trail Run is in its fifth year and will take place at the Kessler Mountain Regional Park in Fayetteville on Saturday morning (January 18).

The race as always been a 15k but this year, a 5k is being added as a way to attract beginning runners.

Tiffany Hoover with Fayetteville’s Parks and Recreation Department said it could even spark a new hobby just in time for the new year.

“It’s just a different experience being on a trail in the woods you don’t have to worry about vehicles and traffic noise,” Hoover said. “It’s just a different mind game.”

The race kicks off Saturday, January 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kessler Moutain Regional Park.
