Lizzie Velasquez Excited About Her #BvilleFilmFest Screening

BENTONVILLE, AR– Maybe you’ve seen her videos on YouTube, or her blog online. Lizzie Velasquez will be in town for the screening of her new documentary at the Bentonville Film Festival.

She was born with a rare syndrome that led to a lot of bullying growing up. At age 17, she found a video on YouTube labeling her “the world’s ugliest woman”.

But instead of letting those words define her, she decided to turn it around and make a difference.

Now, at age 26, she is a motivational speaker, a published author, and sharing her story on the big screen.

Velasquez said, “I’m really excited. I’ve never been to Arkansas before and what a way to start my first visit there. I’m hoping that when people sit down and watch this movie that they will be really inspired and I hope that they will laugh but I hope by the end of it that they are a little bit angry to be honest I hope that they are angry to make a change and when people see the film they will know exactly why I say that.”

If you want to see her film called “A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story” you can stop by the Rogers Little Theater on Friday.

Tickets are on sale for eight dollars.
