Rogers Little Theatre Hosting Its Own Film Festival

KNWA
ROGERS— Rogers Little Theatre is serving as a venue for the Bentonville Film Festival this week.
But after screening BFF films, they’re starting a festival of their own.

“This is our first foray into the film festival world, so we are hosting the Victory Film Festival of the evening.”

Theatre manager Joseph Farmer says the Victory Festival celebrates women in filmaking just like the Bentonville Festival, but caters to a more mature audience.

“I think it would be very close, very similar to the Bentonville Film Festival, but i would say that our films are a litle bit more controversial, maybe a little bit more boundry pushing, a little bit edgier films.”

Farmer says you may not be able to see these films again.

“Some of these films are still seeking distribution, you can’t just go to Redbox, or you can’t just Netflix these films, this is definitely something you want to get up, get out of your house, and come to downtown Rogers.” Farmer says

Rogers Little Theatre’s Victory Film Festival will end tomorrow night, but Farmer hopes it will become a new annual tradition.

“This is your one time chance, just like live theatre, come on down while we’ve got it going on cause you don’t know when you’ll be able to do it again. Fingers crossed, we’ll be back next year for 2016 .”
