Spreading Joy to Those Deployed

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA) — A local nonprofit is looking to take care of our troops this holiday season.

Socks and Cookies is hosting its 3rd Annual 12 Needs of Christmas drive. From November 6 until November 19, people can drop off the item of the day that will go into a care package for a deployed soldier.

“I want them to know that all of us here at home, that we’re appreciative,” said Socks and Cookies founder, Shannon Modisette. “When we go to sit down at Starbucks and have a cup of coffee or get to have lunch with our friends, that freedom is the reason we get to do it. “

Modisette adds the care packages are a good way to boost morale for those fighting for our country.

“A lot of our service members aren’t on a base,” Modisette said. “So they don’t have a lot of those comforts. Things that we have in the care packages can literally be game changers for them.”

Items can be dropped off at The Center for Nonprofits in Rogers or 813 SW Raintree Ln, Suite 3 in Bentonville, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To find the item of the day, click here or here.
