Good Day NWA: Christmas Mega Millions Jackpot on the Rise


The Mega Millions jackpot keeps growing.  The lottery drew numbers on Christmas for only the fourth time in its 16 year history.   The jackpot was an estimated $321 million, or almost $194 million for the lump sum option.  But, according to lottery officials, there was no winner, meaning the jackpot now sits at an estimated $348 million.  The next drawing is Friday.

“Get Out” Director Jordan Peele has a new story he’s hoping will scare us.  The film “Us”  stars Academy Award Winning actress Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke of “Black Panther.”  In the film, a family heads to a beachside house in California for a summer getaway.  When mysterious people show up in their driveway.  The family realizes they have evil doppelgangers haunting them.  “Us”  is slated to hit theaters in March.

He has played a lot of good guys on the big screen.  But over the holiday Tom Hanks became a not-so-secret Santa for some customers at a California burger joint.  The Oscar winner and his wife, actress and singer Rita Wilson surprised customers at an In-n-Out.  The couple bought lunch for some of the diners and cheerfully took selfies with patrons and workers.  He even bought lunch for a few of the customers waiting in line in the drive-thru.

After three years, Rihanna announced that she’s releasing a new album in 2019.  She shared the news on Instagram in response to another user.  Her vocal producer also teased the upcoming album “R9” as “amazing” and “incredible” in an Instagram live video.  The release date wasn’t announced.
