Lifestyle

Kick off your weekend with a family friendly event.  The Rogers Public Library is hosting Friday Folk Tales & Fables.  Starting at 3:30 p.m. kids will have the chance to listen to fables and have discussions about the stories.  This event will take place every Friday until May.  This week’s fable is The Hero of Bremen & The Bremen Town Musicians.  For a full list of upcoming Friday Folk Tales & Fables events click here

Just in time for the potential winter weather on the way, the 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa in Eureka Springs is hosting a one day winter extravaganza on Saturday, January 19.  The event will feature a ribbon cutting for the new ice rink, a free skate, curling demonstrations, hatchet throwing, hot chocolate, pizza by the slice and more.  The fun starts at 1:00 pm.  For more information click here.

If you’re looking for a night of ballroom dancing and fun, head to the Center for Nonprofits for It’s a Wonderful Waltz Winter Garden Ball.  The event will feature food, silent auction, hot chocolate bar music and more.  All proceeds will go to the Healing Gardens of NWA.  For more information click here.

Having a warm winter coat is a must for the frigid temperatures ahead.  Lewis & Clark Outfitters is on a mission to collect 1,000 coats by January 31 for kids in need.  You can help by joining in the Walk a Mile in Their Shoes Coat Drive event.  On Sunday, January 20 at 8:00 a.m. at the Springdale Lewis & Clark location, there will be a one mile coat-less walk.  You are encouraged to bring a coat in good condition to donate. Coats will be distributed to school districs right here in NWA.  For more information click here.
