It’s Movie Monday at the Skylight Cinema, as the Bentonville Film Festival hosts a screening of “Benji the Dove.”  The family friendly film features four boys who come to terms with school, bullies, friendship, and loyalty.  There will be reception at 5:00 p.m. and the screening will begin at 6:00 p.m.  The Director of the film Kevin Arbouet will be in attendance for a Q&A following the film.  Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.  For more information click here. 

Parents grab your little inventors and head to the Amazeum for Engineering Week.  The theme is “Invent Amazing” and will feature special pop-up activities that highlight the everyday innovations created by engineers that improve quality of life.  The week will also include community spotlights with local engineers.  Engineering Week continues through Saturday, February 23 from 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.  For more information click here.

Happening in the River Valley, you’re invited to a special reception for Artist Angela Green for her new exhibit the Essence of Jazz: Color the Way I See It.  The event is hosted by the University of Arkansas Fort Smith’s Chancellor’s Coalition for the Visual Arts.  The reception will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the Reynolds Room lobby in the campus center.  You can also view the exhibit featuring Green’s cutting edge, dynamic and unique work featuring vibrant colors through March 31.  For more information click here

We’re teaming up with the Walton Arts Center for a sweet contest.  The broadway hit musical “Waitress” is heading to the Walton Arts Center in April!   To celebrate, amateur or professional bakers from NWA can enter a contest where you submit your own original pie recipe. Three finalists will be chosen to compete in the ultimate bake-off to be aired right here on Good Day NWA.  The grand prize winner will receive four tickets to see “Waitress”, a special feature on Good Day NWA, their recipe will be included in the “Waitress” cookbook sold at the merchandise kiosk during the show’s run here in NWA and the winner will have a chance to serve their winning pie during a preshow media reception.  For the official rules for the contest click here
