Good Day NWA: Magic Eight Ball Inducted into Toy Hall of Fame

You remember we talked about astronomers think an object in space was an alien life form? Well researchers say attracting aliens to earth could be as easy as leaving a very large “porch light” on. This is based of a study at M.I.T. Researchers say a powerful laser would be focused through a telescope aimed toward space. That may produce a light strong enough to stand out from energy produced by the sun. The study’s author acknowledged it will be no easy feat but says it’s not impossible.

The National Toy Hall of Fame has announced its inductees for the Class of 2018. The Magic 8 ball, pinball and the card game Uno are the trio that will join the 65 previous honorees in the hall, which is located in Rochester, New York. Magic 8 ball, which has been around since 1946 had been a finalist for the hall six times before, but the seventh time proved to be the charm.  Among the toys that didn’t make the cut this year were Tickle Me Elmo, American Girl Dolls and the game Chutes and Ladders.
