Only one movie in wide release this weekend going up against “Captain Marvel.“ Jordan Peele’s “Get Out“ broke boundaries and won him an Oscar. Now Peele is back with his newest movie, another thriller with a twist called “Us.“ This man-in-the-mirror nightmare stars Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o, who returns to her childhood home for a vacation. She can’t seem to shake the feeling that something bad is going to happen, a prediction that sees the mom come face-to-face with an adversary she may not be able to beat, altered doubles of her own family. “Us“ is rated R.
“Cruel Intentions“ is back in select theaters for a limited time for its 20th anniversary. Annette played by Reese Witherspoon unwittingly becomes a pawn in a diabolical wager with Sebastian, played by Ryan Phillippe, who gets more than he bargained for as he attempts to woo Annette. The all star cast includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, Selma Blair and Sean Patrick Thomas. “Cruel Intentions“ is rated R.
