Good Day NWA: Man Gives Up Food for Lent and Takes on Beer Diet

Lifestyle

A little doughnut shop was shown a lot of love after a post on social media touched hearts.  A tweet showing the owner of Billy’s Donuts all alone at his grand opening was sent out by his son.  It soared to nearly 300,000 retweets and more than 600,000 likes, prompting many who saw the tweet to want to stop by for a bite.  The next day Billy’s Donuts had a line out the door and it sold out of doughnuts completely!

There’s good luck, then, there’s great luck and then there’s this type of great luck which is hard to believe and even harder to come by….a Richmond woman hitting the Virginia lottery 30 times in a single drawing. First, she bought 20 pick 4 tickets then later, she bought 10 additional tickets.  Her lucky numbers earned her $5,000 for each ticket for a total of $150,000.  Those lucky numbers you ask… 1, 0, 3, 1.

You’ve heard the term “liquid lunch,” meaning to drink booze instead of eating your lunch.  Well, a man in Ohio is trying to do a month and a half of liquid lunches and dinners and breakfasts.  For Lent, he’s giving up food and planning to live off of beer for more than a month.  The man is taking a nod from monks in the 1600s that would fast during the season by a bock beer diet.  In addition to tracking his own health, he will be checking in with a physician as he pushes forward with the beer fast.
