The saga continues for #PlaneBae. A couple used social media to covertly document what appeared to be two strangers, hitting it off on a flight. The story went viral. The woman who posted the story as well as the the newly dubbed “plane bae” appeared nationally on morning shows. Now, it’s led to a heated debate about internet privacy. The unidentified woman who is the subject of all this unwanted interest describes herself in a statement as “a professional woman” who “did not ask for and does not seek attention.” And she says what happened to her is a digital age-cautionary tale.
Cardi B and the Carters lead the nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards. New mom Cardi B leads the way with 10 nods, including video, song, and artist of the year, while Beyonce and JayZ picked up eight nominations, including best collaboration and video of the year. The VMA’s air live from New York on August 20.
