As we do every Friday, it's time to head to the theaters to see what movies are hitting the box office this weekend.
Up first is the Spike Lee film BlacKkKlansman starring John David Washington based on a true story of the first black police officer in Colorado Springs. The officer is determined to stand out for his work, not his color... so he infiltrates the KKK with help from his partner played by Adam Driver, better known as Kylo Ren. This movie is rated R.
Up next, Jason Statham takes on a 75-foot Megalodon in The Meg. The prehistoric creature has taken a bite out of an undersea laboratory, so Statham tries to rescue the sunken crew without becoming shark bait. The Meg is rated PG-13.
For supernatural fans this next one may be for you. Innocent youth go in search of a missing friend in Slender Man. A girl's disappearance leads her friends to retrace her steps, which takes them to an emo wraith with octopus arms. This movie is based on an internet meme. Slender Man is rated PG-13.
Finally, dogs and humans prove they're an inseparable pair in Dog Days. The film follows a group of people who are brought together in Los Angeles by their adorable four-legged friends. There's a star-studded cast for this movie, including Nina Dobrev from Vampire Diaries, Eva Longoria, Vanessa Hudgens and Adam Pally from The Mindy Project.
