Good Day NWA: Momo Challenge Warning

Good Day NWA

Your favorite healthy snack can now inspire your style.  The footwear company Saucony has released a brand of shoes styled after avocado toast.  On Saucony’s website it says the exclusive ‘avocado toast shadow 6000′ features toasted leather with “smashed avocado textured suede.”  The shoes’ collar is even lined with a “red pepper flake” design.  It’s everything you could want in a meal… I mean a shoe.

Another social media challenge trending online.  It’s called the “Momo Challenge” and it could direct your child to hurt themselves.  Originally a Japanese statue, this is Momo, with bulging eyes, a chilling smile and jet black hair on a bird’s body.  The challenge is to meet “Momo” and to do that one must follow a series of instructions, which can include harming others or yourself.  There have been reports that children are encouraged to text a number on WhatsApp, then sends them instructions to complete a series of bizarre and dangerous tasks.  Facebook and WhatsApp issued a statement saying in part:
“As outlined in our community standards, we don’t allow the promotion of self-injury or suicide and will remove it when reported to us.”

Las Vegas lands another big name to headline a residency on the strip.  Janet Jackson announced a show at the Park MGM Hotel’s Park Theater beginning in May and running until August. Titled “Metamorphosis” the show will offer the audience a look into Jackson’s life from growing up in a famous family to becoming a global superstar.  Jackson is in good company at the Park Theater, Cher is currently performing at the venue.  Tickets for “Metamorphosis” go on sale Saturday, March 2.
