During 2018 The Scott Family’s Amazeum in Bentonville welcomed visitors from all over the United States, and the world, but one local girl quickly called the kid’s museum her second home this year.
“I like to go in the Tinker Hub,” said Amazeum visitor, Willow Blanchard.
Visitors around the country, and globally, have come right here to Northwest Arkansas to experience the wonders of the Scott Family’s Amazeum, but one local 4 year old has surpassed all of them.
With a whopping 130 visits in 2018.
Willow, at just 4 years old, has been here more than anyone in the country and said it’s true when people say, “you know when Willow is in the building.”
“Yes it is,” said Willow.
“A lot of the time the greeters have us checked-in before we ever reach the check-in point,” said Willow’s mom, Sammi Blanchard.
With a larger than life personality, Willow’s mom said visiting the museum has helped her daughter realize that it’s ok to be different.
“She’s comfortable in her own skin here, and every kid needs that. Nobody ever judges if she runs around and acts like she’s a dog, that’s just part of Willow. Everybody here knows that which is fantastic because it’s a place where nobody looks at her and thinks ‘wow your kid is weird,'” said Blanchard.
Practically being another member of the staff has helped her create lasting relationships and somewhere that’s more than just a place to play.
“That’s really, really boosted her confidence, and helped her take on other things that she wasn’t doing before, so we love it here,” said Blanchard.
That’s just one of the many reasons why Sammi said The Amazeum will have a lasting impression on the Blanchard family’s life.
“All of the interaction, and all of the opportunity here to explore and do new things has really given her that boost that’s going to help her in new situations throughout her childhood and that’s a foundation for the rest of her life,” said Blanchard.
