5th Annual Bentonville Film Festival begins

The highly anticipated 5th Annual Bentonville Film Festival kicked off Tuesday.

BFF is a nonprofit focused on promoting underrepresented voices in the film industry, particularly women and minorities.

The group works year-round with schools, businesses and other nonprofits to showcase talent.

John Wildman, a publicist for BFF, said a lot of planning goes into setting up the festival, from outdoor construction to programming and planning.

“A lot of construction going on to build outdoor stages, to build inclusion town, to build theaters, pop-up theaters that people will see the films at. A lot of activity is going on, and there’s a lot of stuff going on internally,” Wildman said.

BFF has screened over 400 inclusive films, presented more than 60 panels and hundreds of discussions on diversity in film since it started in 2015.
