#7at7:Springfest Kicks Off Tomorrow


-Attention parents,thousands of Fisher price cradle swings are being recalled.The U.S. consumer product safety commission says some of the seats in the “cradle-n-swing” have fallen. Reports say the peg that connects the seat to the base can come undone. No injuries have been reported yet. But Fisher Price issued the recall for about 34,000 manufactured swings. If you do own one, the commission advises that you stop using it immediately and contact Fisher Price for revised assembly instructions.

-On Thursday,the Springdale fire department responded to a fire that was started at a shell gas station,off Highway 412 and Thompson. Investigators say the fire started after a semi truck hit a gasoline pump and gas began to spill out. The semi truck also hit the guidewires of a power pole behind the gas station. According to the Springdale fire department, the fire was put out within minutes. There were no injuries reported and no damage to the building. 
-Medical marijuana is expected to appear on the Arkansas ballot come November. The group “Arkansans for compassionate care” says they have more than the 68,000 signatures needed to put their medical marijuana ballot issue in front of voters this November. Another ballot initiative,also gathering signatures. Both initiatives have until June to turn in the necessary signatures to the secretary of state.
-If you haven’t filed yet,there are free resources providing help to those who qualify. The United Way and care community center are working together to provide free tax preparation and filing services. If you or your family earned less than $58,000 in 2015, you qualify. There are locations in Bella Vista, Rogers and Fayetteville.
-Springfest is returning to Dickson Street! The ever popular event is tomorrow,with the pancake breakfast, bed races, and live music. It kicks off at 7 a.m. In the WAC parking lot, followed by the annual spring fest 5k at 8 a.m. There will also be pub crawl. And the event is pet friendly with a dog parade that you just can’t miss. 
-Celebrating a milestone in Northwest Arkansas that’s making everyone go a little  nutty. The world-famous Mr. Peanut and the 23-foot long planters Nutmobile will begin a weekend tour throughout Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley, as he celebrates his 100th birthday. The Nutmobile will be in Fayetteville, Springdale and Fort Smith.
-The NWA poverty challenge feed the funnel party is today. This is in correlation with the united way of NWA. The goal is to engage 600 people to pack 125,000 meals for our neighbors in need. Teams are asked to contribute $30 per person for a one hour shift to pack meals.
