ADH: Three More Flu Deaths in Arkansas

Three more flu deaths have been reported in Arkansas bring the total to 14 for the week ending January 12, according to the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH).

Overall, there have been 16 pediatric deaths nationally this season, one was in Arkansas, according to the Centers for Disease Control. 

More than 3,100 positive flu tests have been reported to the ADH’s online database by healthcare providers since September 30, 2018.

There are two virus types — A and B.  There have been 75 percent A flu, and 25 percent B flu according to flu antigen tests.  

Most of the reported flu cases are in the following counties: Benton, Washington, Pulaski, Craighead, Baxter, Crawford, Faulkner, Garland, Saline, Sebastian, Boone, Logan, Lonoke, and White.
