ArDOT Seeks Info About Driver Experience on Busy Stretch of US 412

FOX24

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KFTA) — The Arkansas Department of Transportation is conducting a study of Highway 412 in Springdale and Tontitown to determine possible improvements.

A Public Involvement Meeting was held earlier Wednesday evening at the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission in Springdale to discuss the area of US 412 from 40th Street to Highway 112.

ArDOT spokesperson Danny Straessle said the department already has plenty of data about accidents and congestion on the busy stretch of highway. However, what they really want to know about is driver behavior.

“What is your experience when you travel the corridor, going to work, or going to lunch, going to school to pick up the kids or going home for the day,” Straessle asked. “That’s the type of level of detail that we don’t have.”

If you missed the meeting, you have 15 days to add your comments on the ArDOT website. Click here to share what you think.
