The Arkansas Coding Academy is opening a campus in the city of Fayetteville.
The academy is a program of the Division of Outreach and Community Engagement at the University of Central Arkansas. It is expanding its services in the state to three campuses.
Arkansas Coding Academy strives to provide individuals with the skills and mentorship they need to succeed in information technology and related industries throughout the state. Their mission includes creating a talent pipeline from the classroom to the workforce through the growth of skilled employability that increases the overall welfare of its students and families.
Arkansas Coding Academy offers a non-traditional education approach to careers in the information technology sector through expedited training programs of three and six months. Tuition for the program is $6,500, which includes books and a laptop computer that the participant retains upon completion.
Graduates of the program have had an 82% job placement rate since the Coding Academy’s founding in 2016.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Arkansas Coding Academy to Fayetteville. We want to create opportunities for all our residents to obtain quality jobs at a living wage, and it’s through innovative programs such as the Arkansas Coding Academy, that we begin to accomplish this goal,” said Mayor Lioneld Jordan.
The location of the Arkansas Coding Academy’s Fayetteville campus will be announced in the coming weeks. Applications for courses in Fayetteville are currently open.
