ARKANSAS (KOLR10) — A hog farm in Arkansas has been denied on Tuesday.

The Arkansas Environmental Quality Board issued their decision, denying a permit for C&H Hog Farm near Mount Judea in Newton County.

The owners of the farm were granted a permit but it was pulled when concerns came up over water quality. They were re-issued a temporary operating permit while the investigation continued.

In Tuesday’s decision, the ADEQ says the Karst Topography makes the area susceptible to waste pollution.  The farm is about 6 miles from the Buffalo National River.

KOLR10 spoke with the farm’s owner’s who say they will appeal.
