Visitors to the Pea Ridge National Park got a taste of history with artillery demonstrations on Saturday.
The park held four demonstrations today.
The purpose was to showcase how the Battle of Pea Ridge in 1862 helped Union forces maintain physical and political control of Missouri.
“It’s American history. It’s something we don’t want to lose,” said Mark Wheeler, a volunteer at the National Park for more than 20 years,
Pea Ridge National Park will be conducting these demonstrations throughout the summer and early fall.
