May 11 was the last day of the fifth annual Bentonville Film Festival and organizers say this year was a huge milestone.
President of Programming for the festival, Wendy Guerrero said almost 86 percent of the program came from female filmmakers and more than 62 percent came from members of the LGTQIA+ community.
As actors, producers, and directors head home, they said they loved northwest Arkansas — including five-year-old actor, Elijah Maximus.
“I want to live here,” Maximus said. “Nature is great, it’s so green here, and the fresh air is so fresh.”
Co-founder of the festival Trevor Drinkwater also felt that this year was successful and said he hopes next year will be some more of the same.
