The City of Bentonville is preparing to expand two of its roads, and Monday they asked for the public’s input.
The city laid out plans at a public input meeting to widen Water Tower Road and extend 8th Street.
This allowed the public to view the plans, meet the city transportation staff and ask questions or voice any concerns about the new plans.
Dennis Birge, a transportation engineer for Bentonville, explained what the new plans will be.
“We will be widening Water Tower Road to a four-lane section with a median,” Birge said. “So it will be a boulevard section, and then we will also be extending the four lanes out to 8th Street interchange.”
Birge said that any comments or suggestions about the design features are due by the June 17.
