(FOX24 via KARK) — A Central Arkansas employee getting quite the surprise Monday morning, discovering a body along the Arkansas River.
Officials said an employee at Bruce Oakley Inc. spotted something in the river that appeared to be a body near the dock in the back of the facility.
That employee called another co-worker and supervisor to see what was going on.
Several law enforcement agencies from Little Rock and North Little Rock as well as Arkansas Game and Fish were called to locate and investigate the situation.
Once evidence was collected the body was taken by the Pulaski County Coroner for identification.
North Little Rock Fire officials said at this time there isn’t much information that can be released regarding the identification of the body.
Lt. Dustin Free with the North Little Rock Fire Department said, “Until we get a positive ID and notify next of kin there’s not a whole lot I can tell you about the body.”
He added it does appear the body has been in the river for awhile, but cannot confirm the gender.
