Bye, Felicia: LR Breaks Up with Amazon

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KARK) — All good things must come to an end, even things that never quite got started….

Thursday marks Amazon’s deadline for cities to submit applications and attract the retail giant’s second headquarters. Little Rock’s mayor said the city would be vying for it.

And then Thursday morning happened. The break up.

The new “Love, Little Rock” campaign posted a full-oage ad in the Washington Post letting Amazon know they wouldn’t be bidding on the headquarters after all.

“It’s not you, it’s us,” read the ad.

City officials plan a 10 a.m. Thursday to explain their approach. At that event, we’ll see the official unveiling of the “Love, Little Rock” campaign.

A twitter account teased a big splash, complete with a logo and a flurry of new tweets promoting the city.

Little Rock swipes left, Amazon: you were the best ex-girlfriend we never had.
