At week three of the legislative session, Democrat Strategist Mariah Hatta and Republican Consultant Ken Yang joined Jessi Turnure to breakdown Governor Asa Hutchinson’s latest tax cut proposal.
Including a resolution passed by the State Senate to allow a National Article 5 Constitutional Convention or ‘con-con.’
Such a convention is still far from reality though because 34 other states would have to move in the same direction.
“A friend of mine is a very conservative legislator, she loves the concept, but the implementation is the question, and if you know the rules well, then someone can figure out how to get around those rules,” Hatta said.
“No offense to anyone of the pro con-con side, but, you know, I think our founding fathers got it right, we just need to go back to the US Constitution, back to our founding fathers, because, in my opinion, I don’t think anyone living today is as smart as our founding fathers,” Yang said.
