A Lowell manufacturing company has given a holiday gift to building campaign for Arkansas Children’s Northwest.

Central States Manufacturing donated $250,000 to the Care Close to Home campaign. The money was used in November and December as a match gift, to encourage others to donate: for every dollar given, one dollar would benefit ACNW, up to $250,000.

“We are grateful to Central States Manufacturing for their generous support of Arkansas Children’s Northwest,” said Fred Scarborough, Chief Development Officer of Arkansas Children’s. “When members of our business community step forward, it’s a win for the children of Arkansas.

Central States is employee owned and CEO Jim Sliker said giving back to the community is “part of our mission.”

The hospital is set to open in January 2018. It will be equipped with 24 inpatients beds for overnight stays, 24-hour pediatric emergency care, five surgery rooms, an outpatient clinic, nature trails and a helipad.
