A dad and daughter found a 2.03 carat diamond in Murfreesboro at the Crater of Diamonds State Park on Monday.

Dan and Lauren Frederick went to the park at 8 a.m. on Monday and found the diamond by 9 a.m. The Fredericks are from Renton, Washington and it was their first time at the park.

The dad and daughter found the diamond near the Star of Arkansas diamond marker on the north end of the parks 37.5-acre diamond search area.

Dan Frederick said he spotted the shine on top of the ground about three feet away from where he was standing.

The Fredericks plan to keep their diamond but did not say what they were going to do with it.
