Demolition to Expand Souls Harbor NWA

FOX24

The original homestead property of Souls Harbor NWA was demolished.

The building in Rogers served as a residential dormitory for the homeless since 1988. Monday’s Demolition was the first phase of Souls Harbor NWA’s new plan to expand, including space for up to 60 beds. That is triple the current capacity.

“It served a really great purpose for a long time, a lot of lives were able to be touched by it and it’s been worn out over the years so we’re getting a fresh start and able to really move forward and see how we can best help people in the future,” said Rachel Cox, Executive Director of Souls Harbor NWA.

Souls Harbor will launch a campaign this fall to raise the money needed to add the housing. The organization provides the only transitional living facility in the state for men and receives up to 150 calls a day from people looking for help.
