Exclusive audio recordings reveal Centerton’s Interim Police Chief admits to targeting one of his sergeants.
Throughout our investigation, we have uncovered documented complaints against Interim Police Chief Anthony Keck. Officers and city employees say he has created a hostile working environment and violated many ethical policies.
One officer says after Keck was named Interim Chief in May 2018, he called a meeting where he says a former officer is quote “pure evil” and said there were other “pure evil” people in the room and some officers were not to be trusted.
Through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Centerton’s city attorney gave us audio recordings which you’ll only hear on Fox 24.
In one recording from March, officers say Keck held a sergeants only meeting and reportedly said he was going to quote, “do something about” the only sergeant who was absent from the meeting.
That same implied officer has filed 4 complaints against Keck and has begged Mayor Bill Edwards to handle these complaints, but says nothing has been done.
In the recordings you can hear this conversation between a sergeant and an officer:
Sergeant: “He also said in there I heard he publicly said that he targeted me, he said something along the lines of…”
Officer: “He was making it a point to do something about a certain individual that he didn’t name specifically but it was implied.”
Sergeant: “He wasn’t there, he wasn’t in attendance or something?”
Officer: “It was easy to figure out.”
We have reached out to Keck and Mayor Edwards to comment on these recordings but have not received any comments back.
