Fayetteville Nightclub Changes Policies After FL Shooting

C4 Nightclub and Lounge is stepping up security measures after Sunday’s deadly shooting at a club in Orlando.

C4 co-owner and manager Jamie Wilson says he’s most concerned about the younger members of the local LGBT community after what unfolded in Florida, and wants them to know he’s working to keep his club a safe space.

“A lot of those kids, unfortunately, still don’t have the family and the background to back them up. So they already are scared in life,” Wilson said.

“And so when they come to a club…Its a home away from home. So unfortunately now that this has happened, they’re scared of it. So we’ve got to make sure they understand we’re here for them still, we’ve got their back.”

Wilson says C4 will no longer allow clubgoers to wear backpacks inside. Purses are OK,  but they may be subject to a search.

Wilson also says the club is in contact with Fayetteville Police to learn how to prepare employees to handle scary situations.
