FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — Fayetteville was recently named a Tree USA City, marking 23 consecutive years it’s been on the list of recipients.
The city celebrated by planting 70 trees in and around Wilson Park.
Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Director Connie Edmonston said it takes the entire city to help keep Fayetteville ahead of the curb for being green.
“Our city is a beautiful city, with the hills and everything and it just helps bring an extra unique character to the quality of life here in Fayetteville,” Edmonston said.
Mayor Lioneld Jordan helped plant a tree at the park Friday.
Jordan’s a firm supporter of keeping Fayetteville green and promoting eco-friendly habits.
