Fayetteville Public Schools holds 2019 commencement ceremony

One small step for a student, one giant leap into adulthood.

Fayetteville Public Schools held its commencement for the class of 2019 on Thursday at Bud Walton Arena.

Seniors from Fayetteville High School, the ALLPS School of Innovation and Fayetteville Virtual Academy participated in the ceremony.

Richard Green, whose granddaughter graduated Thursday, observed how much class sizes have grown over the years.

“It’s been a long time, I would just like to tell them,” Green said. “The hat that I wore with a tassle that year is now a fossil somewhere, so that’s how long it’s been for me. My graduation class was 21 people, so a little bit different.”

Green was proud to say his granddaughter will be joining the National Guard.
