The City of Fayetteville’s Recycling and Trash Collection Services will run on a delayed basis today (March 4) due to slick road conditions.
The collection will be started late due to the snow event overnight, and some area roads are still slick, causing issues with heavy trucks getting into tight spaces and traversing hills.
It is possible that some streets will not be able to be collected as usual.
Monday residential recycling routes will be run as soon as road conditions allow for safe collection.
Residential recycling and trash collection crews today will be focusing on the flat areas in the morning and will make determinations of hilly areas as the day progresses.
Commercial trash is running and will collect in all areas that are accessible. Since some of the dumpster locations are on hilly, shaded, and unmanaged parking lots, there are likely to be some collections that will need to be delayed.
Due to operational issues with the landfill, the Transfer Station will be closed to the public today as well.
It is anticipated that the Transfer Station will be reopened to the public on Tuesday, March 5 at 7:00 a.m.
