FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA) — Fort Smith police are looking for Douglas Eubanks as a person of interest in an aggravated robbery, which took place at the Hardees restaurant on Phoenix Avenue earlier this morning.
Police received a call to 1820 Phoenix after a Hardees employee arrived at work to find the opening manager tied up and sitting on the floor near an open safe. The employee then went to Pic-N-Tote where she called the police.
Officers who arrived on scene said they learned of another store employee who was also inside Hardees at the time of the robbery.
When the manager arrived to unlock the store, two males were already inside and robbed the female employees at gun point, taking the money from the safe and ransacking the office, according to police. The suspects then left the store taking the employee’s Kia that was parked by the front door with the engine running.
The investigation led officers to discover a vehicle located on S. 46th Street where some evidence was located in a car belonging to a local resident. Police set a perimeter around the area and are waiting for a search warrant.
Eubanks’ last known residence is an apartment at 1300 S. 46th St. in Fort Smith. He might be with another unknown subject in an unknown vehicle, police said.
