Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson announced a signing of an agreement with C&H hog farm.
The governor announced a cease and desist to the hog farm located in Mt. Judea.
C&H hog farm will be compensated $6.2 million for the agreement.
Some opponents fear the waste from the hog farm is contaminating the nearby Buffalo River, while others say there is no proof of that.
Governor Hutchinson was speaking at the 85th annual Arkansas Municipal League Convention.
I signed an agreement w/ C&H Hog Farms to end its operation in the Buffalo River watershed. The state & the Nature Conservancy will provide $6.2M to pay off the loans & compensate the owners for lost business. This agreement treats the farmers fairly & protects the watershed.— Gov.
