The human remains, found by a hunter in a remote area of Russellville on January 15, have been positively identified, according to the Russellville Police Department.
Police said the remains found have been identified as Ashley Denton Davis, 49, of Johnson County, Arkansas.
The cause of death is yet to be determined by the Arkansas State Crime Lab, and an active investigation is ongoing, according to police.
About two weeks ago, January 13, police responded to a call about possible remains found by a hunter within the city of Russellville, but in a wooded area.
Russellville detectives and the Pope County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call.
